The Story Behind the Name: How We Became Red Bracket Photo LLC

I originally did business as a registered sole proprietorship “Chris Thumm Photography”, but when I decided to form an LLC, I chose to rebrand with a new company name. I took my time, considering many options as I ran searches to see whether there were any other companies with the same or similar names I came up with, and verified the domain name was available as well. I eventually settled on Red Bracket Photo, and there is a story behind that!

Years ago, I decided to upgrade my large, heavy, steel flash bracket with something lighter and more compact. In my research I discovered an amazing company that I have since purchased many amazing photography products from since. That company was Pro Media Gear. My first purchase from them was a boomerang flash bracket. It was offered in a number of colors, and I chose to purchase a red one since I felt that would match nicely with the red ring around the end of all of my Canon L lenses.

So when the thought occurred to me to use a unique piece of equipment I have as my company name, I checked and found that the .com domain was available and that no one else had a similar name. In the spirit of that red piece of equipment, I now purchase gear with red accents any chance I get.
